"Bjorn's
vocals are nothing short of excellent...He has the feathery,
controlled tone and tight vibrato of Paul Simon, coupled
with a serene vibe reminiscent of Donovan's early demos."

*The Love Kills Theory 10pm
*Notekillers 11pm
*a fir-ju well 12am

The
evening begins with a series of short music-related films.
Then it's time for rock and roll...
The
Love Kills Theory - The Prague Beat says The
feeling is almost surreal . . . Never before have we seen
bohemians in awe of the same music that makes girls swoon
. . . Single-handedly, The Love Kills Theory has not merely
changed the face of the Czech music scene, but culture
as well. Prague will never be the same. www.xemu.com
Notekillers
- Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth once called the Notekillers
a "weird lost myth for some of us." Originally
existing in fairly complete obscurity from 1977-81 in
Philadelphia, twenty-some years after they broke up in
utter frustration, Thurston hailed their single "The
Zipper" as "mind-blowing" and named them
as a significant influence on Sonic Youth in a recent
issue of Mojo Magazine. www.notekillers.com

*The Mugs 9pm
*The Sad Little Stars 8pm

The
Fabulous Entourage (top picture) has been

sugar-coated pop" by The New York Press.
Compared to Devo by The New York Times
and The B52's by LA Splash Magazine, this
keyboard/ bass/ drum trio, joined by two Supremes-style
female vocalists, has forged a reputation for lush arrangements,
throbbing beats, and glam-rock theatrics. www.fabulousentourage.com
The
Mugs - Drawing comparisons to Neutral Milk Hotel,
R.E.M., and The Stone Roses, their music moves across
stylistic lines to produce a wide range of captivating
melodies and driving rhythms. www.themugs.com
The Sad Little Stars www.thesadlittlestars.com
Spottiswoode
and His Enemies is a New York rock band fronted
by a prolific English songwriter. The music has been
compared
to Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, and David Bowie.
The New York Post writes that they're

The
Isotoners (bottom
pic) Slapped up on the cover of the music section
of the Village Voice's Best of New York
2004 issue, the Isotoners are an all-gay rock band that
sing catchy pop gems about doing drugs with D-listers,
the right to divorce, and unwanted teenage pregnancies.

Fursaxa
- Pitchfork Media writes, "One
can't help be transfixed by the way Tara Burke's gently

as Burke uses raised fingers to trace infinity symbols
across the constellations, sounding for all the world
like that feather carried aloft by unseen hands."www.fursaxa.net
Spires
That In the Sunset Rise (top picture) - Dusted
writes "The quartet of ladies that make up
Spires That in the Sunset Rise seem intent on channeling
pagan ritual and sound, imbuing their music with a pervasive
sense of dread, an ominous clatter that shrieks and bursts
more than it gently soothes." www.spiresthatinthesunsetrise.com
Urdog
(bottom
picture) - Foxy Digitalis writes "Urdog
is simply the most satisfying prog/psych group to emerge
from our beloved us of a in many moons, maintaining a
palpable energy, memorable hooks and a mythical lunacy
as they conjure a new beast whose howl all dead souls
should heed and maybe a few living ones, too." www.urdog.com
